How to save "Configure" in Arena 2.0.1/Stockfish 1

Post by Kohflote »

Hi all,

I'm using Arena 2.0.1 and Stockfish 1.6.3 (32bits) on Win-XP. When I select "Configure" and carried out the changes I wanted, but there is no "OK" button to effect the changes and save them.

Would appreciate your help, please.

Thank you,

you mean the Stockfish configuration (Ctrl-1), correct?

Hm, i have all the buttons...

Do you perhaps mean, that they are not visible, because the resolution of your display is too low? (disappearing under the lower edge of your screen?) The Stockfish configuration window is very big.
Sorry for this (maybe) stupid question...

My screen resolution is 1280 x 800, color quality is 32 bits.

I configure using Arena-> Engines->Engine1/Stock163->Configure.

I see; with that resolution you should see a scroll bar on the right side of your configuration window; all these options do not fit in a window with just 800 pixels height.

do you have this scroll bar?

They are at the bottom. The configuration panel is too big in Stockfish.

You need to disable snap in Windows 7 which is part of Aero. In this way you can move the configuration window to see the buttons at the bottom.

To disable/turn off "Snap" (Smart Window Arrangement) in Windows 7

1. Run Register Editor (RegEdit).
2. Navigate to the following registry key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop
3. In the right-pane, double click (or right click and select Modify) on WindowArrangementActive, and set its REG_SZ value to 0.
4. Close Registry Editor.
5. Log off and log on again, or restart computer for the change to take effect.

This is even another simpler way to do this.

Place your mouse pointer over the top edge of the Configuration panel in the middle and drag it down. So that this.....

Becomes this.......

You can then move the window up to see the buttons

Hi all,

Thank you. I can see UCI_Chess960 but not the bottom buttons and there is no way I could scroll further. Anyway, I change my screen resolution just before "Configure"

Once again, thank you for all your kind helps.

Best Wishes,
