Interesting. I thought my customized Stockfish was the only one that spotted Qb1 as an interesting alternative to 42. Qa4...JuLieN wrote:Can't use my SF right now : it's busy analyzing yesterday's game at depth 28 (with a variation at move #42 : Qb1). It takes up to 15/20mn per move on my Core i5 iMac...
I am not sure it is as strong as Qa4 but it is not that bad either!

Now that Bc2 by Anand was really far from optimal...

h6, and +1 is maybe draw for you, but certainly not for everyone...Sven Schüle wrote:So which move was better in that drawn position?Milos wrote:Now that Bc2 by Anand was really far from optimal...

I do not agree that Bc2 was badSven Schüle wrote:So which move was better in that drawn position?Milos wrote:Now that Bc2 by Anand was really far from optimal...

I see that it is a draw and I do not understand the reason that topalov repeat again and again the same opening line that he cannot win.

I propose that you play the PV of your favourite engine on a chess board, and then tell me whether the positions towards the end of the PV are really won for White. You will be surprised.Milos wrote:h6, and +1 is maybe draw for you, but certainly not for everyone...Sven Schüle wrote:So which move was better in that drawn position?Milos wrote:Now that Bc2 by Anand was really far from optimal...
Displaying "+1.XX" does not mean that the position is won. In this case, with unlike bishops and no way for White to make progress, it is simply a draw but the engines have a hard time to see that.
