We were aiming for a 50 elo improvement before release (to make sure improvement was clear even when testing with relatively few games) so I am happy to hear such results. It took a little longer than expected to release, in part because of the significant time spent on improving endgame (much work still to be done in this area of course) which sadly does not generally result in as much ELO improvement per hour spent than work in other areas. One of the advantages of working as a team though, is one person can spend time on aesthetic improvements that do not translate into measurable strength improvement, while the other insures progress is still made in overall strength.

Thanks Graham, and I apologize for the confusion that caused you guys to test 2 separate versions, though I must admit the data it generated was very useful and sped up the our first public release significantly .

Yes, it was a bit of a "which on come first thing" for Ray as well.
I had a test of one version and will try to continue when I finish my job here in Libya.
