ChessGUI can generate a pgn testsuite while creating a book.
The testsuite has no duplicate openings and no transformations.
No ECO considerations are made.

Congrats to Volker for his similar tool.

Hi Matthias,

you wrote:

The transformations ...
I think this one was not easy for you!?

Because:
After move 2, 3, 4, 5, you have others transformations.

Transformation check can be good if you can give the move number for a check.

Example:
Check transformations up to move 8.

I have to look in your GUI.

In the PGN database I created (version 3.5, included in download file) are all postions checked of transformations with a tool by Norm Pollock. I think the transformation are the biggest problem for such a database, the biggest problem I had in the time I created the PGN database. Norm helps me a lot.

But solved in my database, no transformations up to black move 8 are included.

Frank

Hi Frank,

the transformation check is at last book move only.
The user decides how many moves deep the testsuite should be.
Checking for transformations is very easy. It is done with hash keys.
(Every chess engine uses hash keys.)

Hi Matthias,

no plan what are hash keys in combination with transpositions ...
So I have to learn it.

Transformation check:
Create from a PGN database an EPD database with the end positions. No its very easy to delete the transformations too. I don't know how Norm Pollock solved the problem with his EPD tool but it works perfectly.

Thanks for your answers.
Hm, hash keys ...

Often I am thinking ...
Frank, its good that you never do programmings. I learn cobol (school times), turbo pascal (school times) and visual basic for application (in excel) in the latest years but never I have big interest on it. My problem is, if I do such things, I never will find my sleeping because I am sure I try to make all perfectly ... and this is my problem :-)

In all these programming languages I have 800 ELO so far :-)

But I am good in testing and tell bull shit in chess fora :-)
Here I am an expert.

Best
