In June, Dieter told me that he hasn’t given up on the idea of releasing a totally new chess engine. Actually, he has written some significant parts of it.

YACE is many years old but still today has some features that other engines are still caching up. Support for EGTBs, bitbases, UCI, WB, permanent hash, Windows/Linux, a sui generis NM verification...
Has anybody ever seen YACE crashing? I did not think so...
