no improvements from derivatives for some time.

quite frankly,i expect none until you break R4 code.R4 is very very good in engames.put that in your pipe and smoke it,also get some decent hardware your engines cannot handle big hardware which will be even bigger shortly. :)

Why are you surprised they haven't bad much of an improvement lately when Vas hardly made 40 elo in 2 years.

BTW, I think the IvanHoes may be making some progress, but nobody knows which one is the best. :P

Rybka 4 is not that good in endgames. It frequently overestimates its chances. If you play a correspondence game against a Rybka 4-aided player, try using Houdini or Zappa Mexico in parallel and you will see what I mean.

Yes, the Rybka family has trouble in certain endings.

No improvements from derivatives for some time ?
Yes, of all Fruit derivatives, not even Rybka has improved lately.
My engine was quite strong till I added knowledge to it.
