Thanks !

So for chess, the new iPad doesn't out perform version 2.

I was considering upgrading from a version 2 to a new, but other than the retina display, I start wondering what it would bring me more.... ?

Well, the only parameter that might impact chess programs performances is that the New iPad has 1 GB of RAM, whereas the iPad 2 has 512 MB... but it's probably not enough to justify a switch to new iPad if your only use is to play chess. :)

I initially thought that the new CPU would also benefit for chess, but I was visibly wrong.

Thanks

i do have 274.000 NPS after arround 1' thinking in analysis mode.
IMO it is using both cores of the ipad2.

so 274 ipad2
277 ipad3. thats almost the same CPU power. that means they only changed the GPU power and resolution. not the cpus.

That's decent. Thanks for sharing.
