As word spreads that Houdini is now allowed. I wonder can it be true ...

We all know what this means from Chessbase's perspective. They will be selling a version of Houdini by 3rd qtr 2011, just in time for Xmas!

It will be interesting to see what Rybka does legally or at least orally!

Cordially,

You mean something like this?

I don't think so, unless Robert Houdart tells me otherwise! 8-)

She will snap her fingers and CB will put her Polish address on the back of the package. Where is the problem? I see no conflict between CB and VR. ;)

BTW this is H. as Heidi, the squinting oppossum.

Well,it's because Rybka 4 is around 50-60 Elo more stupid than Houdini

Will VR now stop CB from marketing Rybka? :D

It really makes CCRL's current stance look increasingly silly. Then again it really boils down to the corner that Graham has painted himself with his record clear to see from his last term as moderator.

The question is not when CCRL will test Houdini. The question really is whether the group's members have enough sense to jettison Graham  who really has lost all credibility and is looking more and more isolated with his continued (ill-conceived) justification of his stance towards Houdini and his insistance in lumping it with the Ippos/Robos.

It's the inability to accept shades of gray which is the hallmark of a true fanatic who will naturally be unable to accept he is wrong. A pity to see that in someone of his age.

Maybe Graham is wrong on this, but it is not nessesary to go beyond saying "he is wrong" and make an extra amount of imputations about his supposed character and else.
You are just coming here to this place and Graham is an old hand. So you know him scarcely IN this place. At least wait a month or two before launching personal attacks.

Scissor in hand to amputate nasty answers regards

With all due respect Fern, I've been lurking here since the days of Ruffian. I had an old account that was deleted for inactivity. Graham was the sole reason I needed a new account so I could read the hidden posts in the Engine Origins subsection. So I think I'm being fair when I state what I said. Simply put the majority of lurkers I suspect have been put off by his actions in the past and there is still no contrition on his part which speaks of a certain amount of arrogance.

Feel free to delete this but he made his bed and in it he lies given the lack of any reconciliatory tone on his part.

Contrition for what? Reconcilliation for what? I think Graham has been consistent and always explained with great patience the policy of the CCRL clearly, and his thanks are a lot of insults from people who are "lurking" here or there. Thank you very much. I hope the CCRL keeps doing what it has done so far and that is providing a great service to our computerchess community.
