What's the result of Fabien's open letter?

Post by Frank Quisinsky »

Hi there,

talk, talk, talk without any results.
We know that and the most like that!
Typical situation in bigger computer chess fora!

But what is the result of Fabien's open letter?

I need results and I think it's time for official countable results
I am sure that results are more interesting as bla bla ... talk, talk and nothing passing.

First step could be:
We build a new computer chess organisation!

Maybe the decision of CEGT to have houdini in their rating list.

They decided to do it only after fabien's letter.

Hi Uri,

that isn't a result.
CEGT is a privat rating list, and not an official organisation! We have a lot of such rating list and in my opinion ... not very important what CEGT do or not do. Same for CCRL, IPON or my SWCR ... private things!

Hi Matthias,

not a result.

Decision which engine can play or not comes from 1-2 persons from a company which don't gave us standards!

Sorry, also not important what ChessBase do!

Apparently you know everything which doesn't work as an answer to your question, so just subtract everything minus that and you get your answer.

Hi Ricardo,

if a strong group of users are able to learn, more is possible!
If not ... all will be the same!

Thinking on it ...
This hobby can be much more interesting if more persons will find the way to us because more ideas, more developments and more possibilities will be the result.

Very easy!

The result at the moment is ...
More clones!

BRAVO!

The result is that I was already not using Houdini or any of the other ippolit family, and NOW I am not using any Rybkas until some sort of closure or what have you can be accomplished.

Re: Where is Bob!

Post by Frank Quisinsky »

Hi,

Bob's opinion is very important, for me too. Bob teaching programming since more as 30 years, perhaps 35 or 40 years.

Bob should set an example as reaction of Fabien's open letter! I await it from you Bob!

Bob, I never read a great comment by yourself in the time Fabien develops his code. Your comments to his code comes years later. Why you do that today? I can't understand your reason do discuss in the thread around the open letter by Fabien. A point I can't understand! But not the main topic in my thread!

Set an example and gave us the right way as person with so many programmer knowledge you has. One person with a great name should do that.

I wait of if and I am sure many others do the same!
Wait of Bob's clear reaction!

For yourself:
What's the result of Fabien's open letter?

It has made Vas more honest, come to think of it I have not seen one post where he has lied since this letter appeared.
