To hell with there ultra short GM draws....it's not funny anymore

A fraction of their income should be tied to a score given by the people (maybe the ones that attended the match and paid the ticket to see it).
Maybe a committee or many titled players voting etc.

That is easy to fix.

I wholeheartedly agree Dr D. !!

Anand has to be salivating at the thought of playing either one of these cowards!!

I am not the biggest Topalov fan but at least he usually comes to play!!

In fact the whole method for picking the candidates was flawed! There are quite a few players who were higher in the rankings who were passed up. Ivanchuk! Nakamura! To name a few. I think those guys would have come to fight!

OR Shirov! Or Judit Polgar!

How is this for a candidates redo?? (not counting Carlsen who backed out:

Aronian
Ivanchuk
Topalov
Nakamura
Kramnik
Karjakin
Mamedyarov
Gashimov
Ponomariov

Just the top 8 after Anand and Carlsen

I think the fighting spirit may have been more evident with these cast I would have loved to see a Topalov-Nakamura match where each one of them had to do 2 shots of Ouzo before each game!! :)

And how many chances does Kamsky get? Sheesh!

They should define a number of moves to be played before they can agree for a silly draw, say not before the 40th move....

Agreed here, but unfortunately we're stuck with the FIDE rules and we can't do a friggin thing about it....

Neither did Max Euwe and Alekhine didn't take him seriously, drank his way through the match and lost. Maybe Anand will take up drinking? :)

Anyway, whether they have a shot or not, one of them deserves the chance because he'll win the right to play for the title.

Anand might when they tell him how much the sponsors would be willing to pay for the match.
