AMD Bulldozer - first benchmarks. Chess enthusiast's choice?

Post by muxecoid »

According to http://www.pcgameshardware.de/aid,83197 ... /CPU/News/ new generation of AMD processors is highly competitive. I wonder if it will become "best CPU for chess" at least for some time after the release.

It will still have to beat Intel Sandy Bridge, which is unlikely.

True....
_No one can hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard you can hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward….

May depend on what you mean by "beating Sandy Bridge". Even if it doesn't beat it in raw performance, it may beat it in performance per dollar which is usally pretty good in AMD CPUs...
