Computer Chess - the movie

Post by houston »

I work with a filmmaker called Andrew Bujalski and we are making a film about "Computer Chess" and we wanted you guys to know about it early.

Here is a link to our current USA Projects/Computer Chess site

http://www.unitedstatesartists.org/proj ... uter_chess

and here is the FB page:

https://www.facebook.com/pages/Computer ... 1913978933

We start shooting in Austin in late August. Anybody live in Austin and want to appear in the film or help us with some tech aspects of computer chess? Please contact me. Love to hear from ya'll.

Andrew has been hailed as “one of the finest, most deftly talented filmmakers currently working in America” by The Los Angeles Times, andi previously directed the films Funny Ha Ha, Mutual Appreciation and Beeswax.

Hello Housten control,

all what you have to do is to read all the available TalkChess.com messages. That's not a movie only, that's cinema :-)

And each day in LIVE mode!

Good luck for your project.

Very interesting project. Good luck!

I'll surely buy the DVD if and when it will be available.

Is the script ready? Who will be the leading characters?

Thanks - I reached out. Maybe as a writer and chess enthusiast - he might think our project is notable.

Hi Housten control,

read a bit in the interview with the Stockfish team (open source project). Tord Romstad (Norway, one of the Stockfish programmres) is one of the most talented programmer we have. This interview is in English language available. I think this will give you a good start to "our" hobby / topic.

SCHACHWELT (German chess magazine) by GM (GM for Grandmaster) Jörg Hickl.
http://www.schach-welt.de/interviews/interviews

You can find interviews with other TOP chess programmers, like Don Daily, Richard Vida, Stefan Meyer-Kahlen, Gian-Carlo Pascutto, Allard Siemelink, Edsel Apostel and others too.

And ...
A good address, Steve wrote it before, ist Prof. Robert Hyatt. Most helpfull very important person "VIP" in computer chess since more as ... 30 or 40, perhaps 50 years.

That must be your first address!

Best
