Good tactical suites?

Post by h1a8 »

Are there any good yet newer tactical suites for chess engines?
Something analyzed for bugs and is accurate for testing tactical strength and not too easy for engines.

Arasan test suite is kept up to date. For me it's the best.

Maybe that some Glarean Brilliant Moves could be included in a "hard" test suite: some of these are really tough.

I really like the latest arasan suite. I tried to test it for cooks and it appears really solid. I think the strongest engines can solve most of the positions but there are many that will take a significant amount of time. I don't think any of them are trivial.

Thanks, what is the standard time I should give each engine? I'm going to run test on core2duo 64bit windows 7.

You could run it at any level - depends on whether you want a fast or slow test. If you use polyglot to test it will run for 5 seconds per position maximum by default.
