Nope, didn't get anything at houdini@cruxis.be .
I tried twice to send. From jury_osipov@mail.ru and jury_osipov@yahoo.com
Your file has arrived now.
I'm not going to make any other comment than that it's quite hilarious, and that Richard Vida's version was better :).

You have a strange sense of justice when you call it a rant when

- someone points out that you have taken Robbolito/Ippolit code without acknowledging/crediting the original authors
- someone points out that you persuaded a Houdini source code to the public but never delivered
- someone points out that your V2.0-installers try to send the half harddisk to your website (and you can be glad that i didn't buy&try myself, i would sue you down to your knees)
- someone points out that you're an active member of Ippolit- and a "pirates"-chess-fora?
- etc. ...

Don't get me wrong, i have highest respect for what you have achieved with Houdini... you put code-puzzle-pieces together and delivered the by far best Ippolit-compile of all even adding valuable features, still credit has to be given were credit is due... and the core of Houdini is <5% your work and >95% those of others.

yes i'm sure you are in a complete state of denial,

stevenaaus wrote:Well - that's not exactly the problem. The issue is it's output is a little unusual, and it doesn't report pv. A typical single line from the engine looks like
info depth 8 score cp 24 time 19 nodes
0 nps 16455 pv (null)
So analysis doesn't work and has exposed a SCID bug, but it appears to work in Scid vs. PC tournaments. Just one game so far - it cleans up Ivanhoe.

Hi!

How do you like Scid vs pc as a database application? Can you do searches by material (not position-but by raw material?)

How about making books and repertoire databases?

Thanks!

Very unfortunate in this case...it's clearly a wolf in sheep's clothing!

it plays much different like other chess programs i have in the moment.

it is not playing like houdini, not playing like rybka or any other program i know.

Is this still your impression of Strelka 5's playing style? (After presumably playing more games.) If I remember correctly, another poster thought that playing more games between Strelka and Houdini was not worth the bother because the two engines were too similar.

No crashes here. I must have run Strelka a couple of dozen times without any issue.
