I can't seem to get it to run under Arena 3.0, don't know why?
Houdini works as well as Komodo and several others but Critter doesn't seem to do anything?
I know little about Arena, maybe you can help?
terry it works without problems on my arena3.0.
do you use 32 or 64 bit version ? sse or no sse ?
64bit SSE the regular 64 bit won't work either nor Critter 1.2. It stopped working so something has gone wrong. I'm using an Intel Sandy Bridge 2600 with 16GB of DDR3 RAM, Win 7 64bit.
To few games however it looks to be stronger than Houdini 1.5.
Best,
Gerold.
P.S. It is working ok in Arena.
Still seems a bit weaker than Houdini 1.5, maybe 15 Elo points.

Thanks Kai but....are they your personal tests?
Regards
Yes, first one was 600 really fast game/3s test, indicating 60 +/-25 Elo points improvement on Critter 1.2, but a bit unreliable because of such fast games.
Now I have 1500 game/15s, Houdini 1.5 seems stronger by 20 +/- 15 Elo points. This one is more reliable.

While testing with Little Blitzer, I had to stop using Critter 1.2 at such fast TCs as it suffered from a large number of time losses.

I always check that, didn't have much problems, 1 time loss in those 600 games/3s. I am not using exactly 3s or something, usually either fixed time/move (for example 0.02s) or increment, using right now, 5s+0.05s. I think it's somehow better to self-play different versions of the same engine using the very fast games, some engines like Komodo scale differently with the time control, compared, for example to Houdini, Komodo seems much weaker at these fast controls. Houdini and Critter scale similarly, so I can use these very fast games.
Ok I'll upgrade my fedora 7 box. It has no glibc-2.7
Time to go to my 64 bit test system, where everything runs nicely after a quick test. (But no SSE4.2)
