- two-tier aspiration window
- tuning of some eval parameters
- small part of history value (used for move sorting) is carried over from previous search
- bigfix of move generation cache

enjoy!

I have set up a rudimentary web site for Rodent:

http://www.koziol.home.pl/rodent.htm

Contributors section will be added soon. So far I obtained some very useful compiler listings from Lucas Braesch (which helped to find a serious bug in version 0.10) and a patch from Dann Corbit, making use of 64-bit intrinsics. There are also some 64-bit compiles to download.

Great: is Denis still around? Lot of time I didn't hear from him (since Toga developers forum :( )

He is still around. He is dealing with a health issue at the moment and is not able to participate as much in the forums as he would like to, for now.

So that's why Adam sent me a note! Thanks Enrico.

I'm not fully charged yet, but still could spare time for the hobby.

I asked Pawel if I could sample a 64-bit as it was a bitboard engine. I didn't know Dann was at it too, but good to know that somebody noticed.

It's a blessing too as I was forced to fix my old pc to make another set of builds for AMD hardware. I think Pawel only included the ICC builds as I sent the second set a bit late after fixing my other pc.

I uploaded it in our forum.

Check-out my crappy logos  ! Next could be a polyglot book.

Here's my running gauntlet:

Code: Select all

Rodent-0.11-64-bit-gauntlet

Rank	Engine	Score	Ro
01	Rodent 0.11 64-bit 94.5/160	· ·· ··
02	N2 0.4 64-bit 8.5/13	7-3-3
02	GarboChess 2.20 64-bit	8.5/13	7-3-3
04	Pseudo 0.7c 8.0/13	6-3-4
05	Aristarch 4.50 6.5/14	6-7-1
06	SOS 5.1 5.5/13	4-6-3
07	Rodin 4.0 5.5/13	3-5-5
08	Tao 5.6 5.0/13	3-6-4
09	Delphil 2.7 5.0/14	2-6-6
10	Philou 3.70 64-bit 4.5/13	2-6-5
11	Ufim 8.02 3.0/13	1-8-4
11	Abrok 5.0 3.0/14	0-8-6
13	Gaia 3.5 64-bit 2.5/14	2-11-1

It's a nice improvement even from version 0.10. I'll add some new opponents for the gap-filling in our list.
