Re: "Interesting" position.
When this position happened in my game (fast game on FICS) I played Rxd4. After a few obvious moves:
[D] r3k2r/1b1p1p2/ppqPpBp1/4P2p/P1Bp4/5P2/1PP1Q1PP/R5K1 b kq - 0 20
Black is exchange up but has no counter-play. Komodo 3 immediately says white is better. Critter needs long time to give white positive eval.
P.S: Qe3 as suggested by Critter is also exchange sac but it can not be accepted. If black accepts:
[D] r1q1k2r/3p1pb1/pp1Pp1p1/2p1P1Bp/P1B1Q3/8/1P3PPP/n2R2K1 w kq - 0 20
white has crushing Bxe6!!

As expected, Junior 12.5 will sac the rook within a few seconds. Junior really isn't happy unless it has sacrificed material for counterplay.Terry McCracken wrote:Engine? I forgot about Junior. Sorry Amir...Ok most programs won't consider Rxd4.IanO wrote:As expected, Junior 12.5 will sac the rook within a few seconds.
