Hi Gabriel,

I had the same problem.

It seems to work if you reduce the hash table size to 512k.

Strelka 5.5 is stronger than Houdini 1.5a x32 on one core by 46 +/- 18 points (95%) at this ultra-short control, probably a bit stronger than Houdini 2.0.


I insert a dendrogram (the new Strelka included), closer to 0 on horizontal axis to the common "ancestor" - engines are more similar as move choices go.

Thanks, Kai. So, it is tweaked but still quite similar to Houdini. Though, it appears that the tweaks are very effective.

It is not that it is too difficult for Strelka, simply Strelka was designed to only announce for mate when the position reach mate within 8, but that does not mean that it will lose a game versus an opponent when there is mate with more than 8 :wink:

It is not that it is too difficult for Strelka, simply Strelka was designed to only announce for mate when the position reach mate within 8, but that does not mean that it will lose a game versus an opponent when there is mate with more than 8 :wink:

Here I tested the same position but one position ahead reducing it to mate in 8:
