Damned, with my old internet-notebook here I can't watch youtube videos, so I don't know what you want to tell me. :(
Ah, too bad..

Then you'll only have an intellectual knowledge of them: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crack_intro

Ok, now I understand.

No, it has never been my style to put anything like this into my 'work'. ;-)

Thanks for the link, Jim.

But the problem is my old OS (Win98). The notebook I'm using for internet is really old (even from the last century, 1999), and it's definitely too weak to install WinXP on it.
And most new programs (also this UmPlayer as I can read on the website) require at least Win2000 or WinXP to run.

OTOH this old Win98 has one big advantage: I can directly run every old DOS program (especially my dearly beloved chess programs) without such tools like DOS-Box or other virtual environments. 8-)

And I'm not at all keen on watching movies or videos via internet - for this I have TV. ;-)

I post this also in a separate thread so that none of our many DOS-oldies fans can overlook it!

Dave Kittinger was so nice and gave his permission to make his DOS chessprogram WChess 1.05 available here, many thanks!

So here's my package - I've removed the copy-protection and of course also the user-info that is written into the EXE at the installation process (I just changed the name to 'David Kittinger', what else  )

Have fun with this great and very famous chess program,
Franz

BTW, it would certainly also be a good idea if Ed Schroeder adds this program to his freeware page!
Thanks to Franz and Dave !

I've created an iso image from your source.
So you can easy use it with any virtual emulator like VMware or VirtualBox!

Thanks to you both! I had version 1.04 but sold it to a collector, some years ago.

:?: What is the correct syntax for the command line option, for the hash size?

I only remember that it required the number of positions, not MB, as the argument, and IIRC the start screen displayed an acknowledgment then. I am not sure about it. With DOSBox/DFend I have tried -h, /H and the like but I cannot figure it out. Thx anyway!

Here's an example I've found in a batchfile, but it's not mine so I can't guarantee that it works or is correct:

wchess -h1200000 -LI -V0 -P3
