Novag Carnilian II - Heredity

Post by Martin Hudon »

Anyone know what this program is? New or issue from an existing one.

Any comments would be appreciated regarding this machine eg:
Novag style of play reminicente of Supper Connie, Constellation Forté.

Thanks

Not similar to those you named. It is one of the second class cheap programs Novag has always produced.

If you are thinking in getting a dedicated unit with decent force, around 2000, there are several possibilities worth of examination, but I guess the best in terms of strength and beauty is Citrine by Novag. A wooden house, wooden pieces, big size, an splendid thing all in all.

Two first meanings of the dutch word "leren":
1. leren [vc] (learn, larn, acquire) acquire or gain knowledge or skills.
2. leren [v] (teach, learn, instruct) impart skills or knowledge to.

Thanks Torsten et Fernando
i will simply add that while the Citirine plays much stronger it is a bit more expensive then the CII

I own both(as well as the Carnelian I) and i can opine that while the CII is weaker it is also a pretty thing to behold
simulated wood as well as wooden pieces for a price thats hard to beat
you should be aware that Novag NO LONGER makes any new chess computers..so when the dealers stocks run out on the CII then you will no longer be able to pick one up as new
my guess is they will appreciate in value in the coming years
the same can be said for the Citrine ..but you are talking about a computer 3x-4x the price of the CII
if price is an issue...

Go With The CII Regards

Yes its true
my posting output these days mimics exactly the number of topics related to dedicated computers
about a 1/2 a dozen per year
it is interesting to stay away for awhile and when i check back to see if any posts about dedicated computers have stumbled in..i see the same overwhelming number of posts about the clone wars

the only thing changing are the members currently participating in the debates
members tossed out or leaving on their own a few years ago.. return
what is it about this place that people can not stay away when there are now other CC boards?

Mother Ship Regards
