Human pgn database with time-stamp data?

Post by Dr. Axel Schumacher »

Hi all,

I'm currently looking to address some question regarding the time-consumption in chess, e.g.:
a.) How much time do player take in specific openings? E.g. does an average Sicilian Dragon takes longer than an average Benko Gambit etc..?
b.) Correlation of the time that is left with the error rate of the player.
c.) Time usage depending on Elo rating or age of the player
etc..

To do this, I need a certain number of games with information on how much time a player used. I noticed that in many online live coverages, the time is saved, so obviously this data should be available somewhere. Time stamps can be extracted from online playing sites such as FICS, but there is the problem that the games are usually short and do not have tournament time controls. Where can I find games with time-stamps or at least the time that was used for the whole game? Any suggestions? Thanks!
