Post by tano-urayoan »

As part of the The Clericus International Chess Championship 2012 there was a game between 2 priests and the Italian program Satana (what a pun)

I was in Rome for the Italian Open Chess Software Cup.
I can report that Satana losed.
Playing in Rome was a too big advantage for the two priests

No, seriously, just because of the program's name I was ruling for the priests. :)

My Satana was very bugged in Rome and the priests won easly. I've loosed all the games in a very bad way but i finished the software just the night before the tourney, so it had never played a true single game, but the trying against me. The name has been choosen just for joke, the year before the Rome tourney when we were taliking about the possibilities to play the IOCSC in Vaticano. When i've know that location, just for joke i've said "so, if we play in Vaticano, i will call my next program 'Satana' ". :)

I plan to let Satana play well very soon... to rematch the priest the next year...

PS: i'm not a satanist, of course

Not to start a diatribe in religion, but satanism is NOT the adoration of Satan, at all (at last not the real satanism, there are certainly some idiots that call themselves "satanists" that really do, but that's akin to some fundamentals christians calling themselves such and then doing all sorts of imbecilities), also because even in the bible satan is an office, not an entity.

Satanism, the modern one, believes there is not God but man, where the "there" is the important part, meaning that God is Man, Man is God when the true Self is exposed (similar to oriental religions).

Aleister Crowley is being considered, in fact, the "father" of modern satanism.

I don't know what satanism really is and i think that anybody is free to follow its religion or its own thinking about what God is or isn't. I just would like to say that i don't follow any religion that put Satana or the man itself at centre of the universe... my centre is chess! :)
