Small update of the Little Compendium

Post by Lyudmil Tsvetkov »

Hi,
Here is a small addendum to the LittleCompendium:
http://www.winboardengines.de/doc/adden ... c_2012.pdf

I thought the previous version would have been the final version,
but obviously it had been the last before the final one.
What might be new:
- apex and medium pawns (members of a group of diagonally connected ps, not very important in terms of values, but with a real added value)
- mobility in terms of different pieces
- a bit more on pins
- outstanding positional issues with (top) engines
- playing in a tactical and in a positional key
- piece configurations in terms of complementarity
- some other stuff

You can also download the full version of the compendium here:
http://www.winboardengines.de/doc/Littl ... endium.pdf

Please, note, that for me the only important file would be the most recent version of the compendium in full, where contents would be more or less
ordered. The different addenda are there for practical purposes, in the improbable case that someone has read the older versions and would like to just browse the newer stuff. Looking at the cpw evaluation page, one could say that I am very prolific, but the truth is I try to write just a single file.

Many thanks again to Thomas and Gerd! (I do not know whom I should thank more)
Best regards,
Lyudmil

Thanks Lyudmil, I never saw such a massive list of evaluation ideas written in a such software friendly way.

I am sure many authors will find in your study a lot of interesting stuff to further test .

I'd like to ask Gerd to evaluate this material to be included, at least as a link, to chessprogramming wiki.

Hi Marco.
Now I have counted at least 1 person who might have browsed
the compendium. :o

I think this thread belongs to the programming subforum.........

Placing it here is to attract more attention is a kind of spam.........
