Nikolachess ... pro gpu solution?

Based on CUDA technology by Nvidia. Designed to outperform all modern supercomputer solutions available now or that could be created in future. AI machine running a large number of GPU's is set up to use new algorithms with parallel computing architecture and a missing link for chess - human strategy.

....
We have come to a conclusion that the "perfect" chess engine would have an elo rating of approximately 16,000.

Interesting, though I have always wished these sorts of teasers contained more information. There is not enough there for me to contemplate sending any spare money to them.

However, it will produce threads speculating about the possible results of Nikola vs Houdini :)

The difference is that these guys ask for donations.

The web page lacks any sign of credibility. Also note that they are careful not to actually claim that they will create this "perfect" engine. The 16,000 is only a result of a theoretical exercise similar to many theoretical exercises in threads on this forum.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but I see no reason not to call this a scam.

from the site
It would take a minimum of 3 more years (2015) for GPGPU's to become common.
Maybe we should wait 3 more years to know for sure :)

This is what I thought but was too polite/wimpy to say :)

Hi,

there are a lot of chess projects/pages out there that deserve donations, such as:

Popeye, ChestUCI, FinalGen, Gaviota, SMIRF, VKSach

If I want to donate I can do this without anyone asking me to do it. Lots of people ask how to donate for Arena for instance.

I can promote such projects by articles on the Arena page, others can then donate.
