What about Amyan 1.72?

It's one of my favorites... have a look on its playingstyle!

Previously, when reached smaller depth yet, the Capivara chess engine was able to make some unusual moves, for an engine, because its purpose from the beginning was to promote fun in games against amateurs human ...

To the prior list I might add Delphil which plays speculative attacking chess; then the new TrappyBeowulf is worthy of mention. Chenard plays interesting games and makes for a good sparring partner.

Nice sac Lourenco, a pity that Capivara was only happy with a draw :)

I quite like Gaviota ! I haven't watched the latest version play yet, but I always found prior versions entertaining to watch.

Curious, Ruxy, do you like Pharaon nearly as much as ZChess 2.0? Or is it a case of more strength at the expense of style?

Cheers,

Junior is different, too. Usually does not do that well against the very top engines but it can win from time to time. Its evals seem to differ from other programs' pretty often.

Hi Carl !

1.- For sure NO ! ZChess 2.00 London is an absolutely incredible engine. Playing even versus Houdini 3 ( or Sublimello 1.1  ) I have seen superb moves !

2.-For sure YES. The strength asks rigurosity and that's the death of art.

Strength versus art ? A dilemma ? I chossed years ago !

Have a superb weekend, Carl !
