All informations here : http://chessprogramming.wikispaces.com/WChess
It had very good results against humans at this time, so I suppose entertaining style ;-)

In 1995, it scored 5/6 against average GMs. Processors used in 1995 is probably a fast 486 or a slow pentium I. Now, the processors are around 200 times faster (with no recompile) :-)

Well Thomas, I hope you'll not be too much disappointed, but this WChess 1.6 'UCI' is in fact a WinBoard engine. It only contains the usual WB2UCI adaptor, so you can use it like an UCI engine.

Ok, here is it:

PS: this 15 was just a typo, of course it should be 16!

It has been brought to our attention that:
This W-Chess is part of the commercial product Mayestic chess and maybe others. It is copyprotected (and) hacked
So the link was edited out. Please, remember that no illegal activity is authorized in this forum.

Thx a lot Franz.

I adore Wchess.

For me it is not possible to be disappoited about WChess.

I played a game WChess 1.05 DOS on a 4 GHZ i7-PC against Komodo 3 on a 1GHz Tablet.

[Event "PC gegen Tablet"]
[Site "40moves in 60minutes"]
[Date "2013.01.16"]
[Round "1"]

[Black "Komodo 3 AB"]
[Result "1/2-1/2"]

15. Ne2 Nd6 16. Qc3 Bd7 17. Ne5 Rfd8 18. f4 Rac8 19. Qb3 Be8 20. Kh1 Qe7 21.

Rd3 41. Kg1 Kf7 *

Now i looking for the right commands to enable the analyze mode and the hashsize.

Did someone have a good patter of a winboard.ini or a wb2Uci.eng?

Thx in advance.

Is WChess 1.6 the same program as WChess 2000 or slightly weaker?

I think Wchess2000 was the 32bit version of the DOS-16bit WChess 1.06. It's supposed to include improvements in endings and is indeed faster. An interesting link (in german): http://scleinzell.schachvereine.de/p_sp ... 2000.shtml
