It has been out for a while now. I got it straight away. There are some benchmarks of various WP8 devices running Chess Genius

Richard Lang is probably the most prolific app developer for all the platforms, has versions for Palm, Win Mobile, iOS, Android, Symbian, and now WP8. There must be some decent money to be made and I am surprised that others that have more attractive and stronger engines don't also produce versions for more platforms.
One little nag that I have with WP8 is that when you discover a download link for a PGN file it won't let you download it  A pop up window says "You need to install an app for this task. Would you like to search for one in the Store?" Then you select "yes" And it returns "Sorry, no apps found." Previous versions of Windows Mobile 6.5 and less would allow you to just download the file anyway, then you were free to navigate to it from whatever chess app you wanted to use.

I bought Chess Genius for my iPhone, but I find I hardly ever use it. Newer programs are hundreds of elo stronger and nicer to use.

When we get Stockfish / HIARCS / Houdini for W8 I may change my mobile!

I use Chess Genius on Android to play with, not to analyze. Don't care if there are hundreds of Elo stronger programs - CG's strength is more than enough for me, a humble 1800 FICS player.
It is a rock solid stable program, with clean interface and nice board/pieces design without bells and whistles.
