HIARCS defended a draw against Junior in the last round to take the World Chess Software Championship, for the second year running.
Code: Select all
Hi Jr Pa Jo Sh Me Total
Hiarcs xx 1= 10 == 1= 11 7
Junior 0= xx 10 =1 =1 11 6.5
Pandix 01 01 xx 1= == 11 6.5
Jonny == =0 0= xx =1 11 5.5
Shredder =0 =0 == =0 xx 11 4.5
Merlin 00 00 00 00 00 xx 0

And for the second year running, it is meaningless.
The top engines were not there, and the number of games were tiny. There are lots of equal hardware ratings lists out there, with ALL the engines and hundreds of games per engine. Those are far more relevant.

It would be nice to see Houdini vs. Hiarcs handicap match...with one pawn odd or maybe more...

Pandix ?
Merlin ?
Who are these engines ?
Never heard of them, and I cannot find them in either CCRL or CEGT rating lists.
It looks like Merlin forgot his magic wand on the way to Yokohama: 0/12... ouch!
Theory and practice sometimes clash. And when that happens, theory loses. Every single time.

No, Lucas is disqualified for his WCCC bashing, disrespectfulness, and complete incompetence. Who is Pandix? Who is Merlin?
