See, not that hard. Only took 2 seconds.
You must be joking, he obviously didn't clear the hash.
Hello Milos.
Of course you gave me the ultimate compliment so thanks Milos.
Since I always reboot between test positions, I know hash was cleared.
I assume you know why I reboot.
Let me ask you this, At what time does f4 have to show for you to believe that the hash was cleared? Is 1 minute ok? 2 minutes ok? 30 seconds ok? you tell me then I will show you something, be honest with me and I will show you.

I can have f4 start anytime with a clear hash, your post tells me you don't know how. I do.

also I can get f4 to post first and stay without variation after a reboot. I will do it in the last analysis

Milos if you dont know the limits of your race car, you are giving up a lot of potential.
Of course I am limited because I am not a programmer, but when I first purchase a program, I spend a lot of time learning
what I have to work with.

Now do you want me to show you how to get f4 to start at 10 minutes, 30 minutes, not show at all.
Milos if you dont know the limits of your race car, you are giving up a lot of potential.
Of course I am limited because I am not a programmer, but when I first purchase a program, I spend a lot of time learning
what I have to work with.
kgburcham
I did not purchase Houdini4 but I think that if you do not use the default version for analysis then you should at least say it.

I know that you can get f4 relatively fast if you reduce the value of the fifty move parameter to non default small value
giving analysis of houdini with this change without mentioning that you
used non default parameter is misleading in case that you did it.

I believe that it is possible to fix the evaluation without doing the program weaker against chess programs.
I do not claim to know how to do it.
would it weaken the program against chess programs if you tell it something like that if it is ahead and danger of draw because of 50 move rule, then sacrifice a piece if (a)it means that you can move to 7th or 8th rank and (b)you will still be ahead.

Good for you. As long as you're sure. We've never seen a single game without premove and with an inc. All we see are blocked positions and engines losing on time.

What makes it worse is all the "fight to the machines" self greatness that is claimed - usually it is assigned by others.

One win with 5min + 2s or similar would be very impressive, and I think for many here would much more of a feat than blocking the position and winning on time.

I would really enjoy seeing a genuine 5 + 2, 3 + 1, 2+12 (or whatever) win.
