test position from playchess

Post by jdart » Wed Feb 05, 2014 4:09 am

[D] 2r3k1/1q3p2/1rp1pQ2/p2bN2p/P2P2p1/8/5P2/2R1R1K1 w - -

Jernjoffen (Komodo 6 64-bit)-JSchindler (Houdini 3 Pro x64), playchess.com 2013.

bm Nd3. Most engines like Qg5+ leading to a draw but will eventually see Nd3.

Latest Stockfish found it at depth 23:

Now doubt that it wins:

Thank you Jon, Nice game, interesting positions!
this is strange ... the most difficult for SF is to find 29.h4!! I guess because SF does not see at that time 32.Nd3!! and unfortunately SF prefers Ng4?!

but after 29.h4 he sees and reply with 29...Rb3 but it's a little late (If I remember correctly, this position is a retro analysis. ie I did rewind since 32.Nd3 (hash 512))

Here Stockfish switches to h4 at depth 32:

Code: Select all

info depth 32 seldepth 56 score cp 62 lowerbound nodes 662346998 nps 12875106 time 51444 multipv 1 pv h3h4 h7h5 g2g4 b6b3 g4h5 b3h3 f2f3
It quickly sees that Rb3 is the best reply, but still favors h4 at depth 48:

Code: Select all

info depth 48 seldepth 94 score cp 182 nodes 83492864841 nps 20345960 time 4103658 multipv 1 pv h3h4 b6b3 h4h5 g6h5 c1c5 c8e8 f6g5 g8f8 g5h6 f8g8 e5c6 b3b1 e1b1 b7b1 c5c1 b1b7 c6e5 d5e4 h6h5 e4g6 h5g5 e8a8 e5c6 b7d7 c6e7 g8g7 d4d5 a8e8 e7g6 h7g6 g5e5 f7f6 d5e6 e8e6 e5a5 e6e5 a5b4 e5f5 c1e1 d7d8 e1e7 g7h6 b4h4 f5h5 h4f4 h5g5 e7e1 h6g7 e1b1 d8d5 f4c7 g7h6 c7h2 h6g7 b1c1 g5h5 c1c7 g7f8 c7c8 f8g7 h2c7 g7h6 c8h8 h6g5 c7c1 g5f5 h8e8
I haven't looked at the PV.
