Of course.

And while 90% was about fun there is a serious undertone which is how easily it is to cheat nowadays. It was a 2 hour job to establish a SF connection. If I had released it as a MP version nobody would have noticed.

So what's the guarantee something similar isn't already present?

Hello Ed, I just wanted to ask, why not try the same thing but with a different version of Rebel, instead of Stockfish, maybe Century 4 with Anti GM if that is your favorite Rebel? Then you have already a Zwei Hirn Rebel :) And if you can get the two engines to share the same hash table, that is more work but it becomes already a lot stronger and it is in fact already a real Deep Rebel. Toga has much the same approach, Richard Pijl has done that in the past with The Baron I believe. I don't see why that engine would not reach 2950 also, if Stockfish is not really running 100% of the time and you still get 2950 rating with that, why not with a 100% CPU running Pro Deo or Rebel as second engine?

Debugging is twice as hard as writing the code in the first
place. Therefore, if you write the code as cleverly as possible, you
are, by definition, not smart enough to debug it.

there is IMO no need for further tests... the program was a joke.
but ed will maybe come out with a 2 brain engine later.

I don´t think RebelTNG is a joke.
I don´t think Chess Partner GUI is a joke.

RebelTNG plays very well.

It´s obviously not so agressive as many of the last released stronger engines.

Well, for a =~ 2000 ELO player, it is almost impossible to win against it (playing true chess, not anti-engine chess, like Restrepo´s methods).

If it´s rating is 2950 using just 2 cores, imagine what could happen using 8 or more cores...

it uses stockfish as 2nd engine. so rebel tng is not rebel tng, its stockfish telling rebel what to play.

Yes , it was a great joke. Now let's see a version of Rebel that is real innovation , maybe like Blondie 25 that can improve it's play by 1000 elo in 3 weeks of play using a genetic algorithm.

Hi Eelco,

Could you elaborate a bit on what the benefits are and how they materialize in the suggested "Zwei Hirn" approach?

Anyway, after fooling us and certainly me, Ed is now morally under pressure to get a real Deep Rebel out, the naughty man!

Cheers,
Kaj
