Ok...this challenge is ended in favor for Stockfish too !

To be honest,
I expected better results by Nakamura+Rybka+book vs Stockfish+no book
But it seems Nakamura was not so lucky...and congrats to Stockfish team !

Btw,
Right now I am considering to create a well-optimized book against Stockfish+no book

I plan to run a test: Rybka 3 + book vs Stockfish 5 + without book

The planning test conditions:
i7 980 3.33 GHz / i7 970 3.20 GHz
Time control: 3m+2s per game
MP testing (6 cores)
Ponder OFF
512 MB Hash
Tablebases OFF

More Details:
I preferred blitz due to we will have possibility to see more played games
And more games that means more accurate Elo measuring !
Note also that the difference between blitz and slow time control is approx. 50-100 Elo
With neutral short books, the Elo difference is between R3+SF 5 is approx. 200 Elo
To see the final results, probably it will take more than one month period of time

And who knows,
If I will be successful...then I expect to see Rybka 3 to have almost same performance as Stockfish 5
Plus, my new optimized opening book can be used in the future, in case of similar challenges too ))

Sedat

Good luck Sedat but I doubt an opening book will help Rybka that much, Stockfish is decent in the opening.

Hello Leto,

Let's see... ) the time will show up !

I strongly believe that the used opening lines will play a big role for Rybka 3

And normally my goal is to reach almost same performance,
But at least I think that I can reduce from 200 Elo to 100 Elo difference

Can't wait to see the results. I'm sure Nakamura was practicing against Stockfish without opening book but perhaps he didn't have enough time to prepare. Perhaps you'll be able to find its weaknesses.

I am not a GM, but I have some experience in book making...

Even there is possibility Rybka to be performed better than Stockfish
Of course to reach such successful results...much more hard work is required...!!

Nakamura could have drawn all four, but he prodded and pushed, looking for wins that were not there. Respect to Naka!

I don't think he had any chance to draw the match ...
I find it highly unlikely that in a perhaps historically significant match of man vs machine...he had chances to draw against a 3300 engine (possibly proving human can be equal to a machine), and simply threw them away.
If that's true, he's either incredibly conceited or a complete idiot...(both of which I doubt)
