Lyudmil Antonov stopped in July 2018 and 'counterply' aka Justin Doherty took over, but he also did no updates since 2 months.
The pace of the SF development is too fast.

asmFish updates

Post by cma6 »

Guenther:
Thanks for the update on asmFish. Therefore, I take it that the right place to look for asmFish updates is the url that you provided rather than
https://www.counterply.com/asmFishCP ?
Is there an SF url that you recommend for interim updates while waiting for Justin Dougherty to update asmFish?

Do you mean any updates, except the permanent dev builds @ http://abrok.eu/stockfish/ ?
In this case I have no further infos, but there is no other assembler version at least.

I am just looking for the approved permanent SF updates but that url just gives me "no site found."
As an alternative, what do you think of this one: https://stockfishchess.org/download/

The approved permanent SF updates worked for me :

http://abrok.eu/stockfish/

The site you referenced are the official version releases i.e., Stockfish 10, Stockfish 9 etc., the site I referenced has the official developmental builds ( updates) in between the official releases.

Other Versions => Development builds is exactly the same as the link I gave, so yes.

BTW I have no problems to use the link I posted from inside my post.

SF development site

Post by cma6 »

Thanks to Mike B. and Guenther, I finally got to the right SF site from a different computer. What is the difference between the versions: "Windows x64" and "Windows x64 for Modern computers"?

The are designed for different CPUs, generally dowload them all, for each version, open it in a terminal and type "bench" and use the fastest one. If it crashes, your CPU does not support that version.

After a deep evaluation, 3.3 billion nodes, LC0's Qf6+ score falls a little. It doesn't see a clear win. It used 185 GB of RAM by this point.
