Is this a much improved Hiarcs?

Why did white capture on h5 and doubled its pawns and creating isolated ones. Wouldn't g5 have been better.

No it would not as the result would be the same.

But maybe hiarcs is no chess system tal.

I can't believe this is only draw.
A very embarassing game for the Komodo book author obviously.

Yes, this line has indeed been *somehow* revived recently, but for no reason that might make it an attractive choice in a black game against Hiarcs in a WCCC event in any way ( to put it *very, very* mildly actually ;) ).

While watching this game at work I couldn't help but wonder how Larry Kaufman would feel seeing this ( that this setup is shit is simply basic chess culture - see Alekhine - Bogoljubov).

The Komodo book seems to be a weak point in this tournament anyway. Personally I am convinced that "no book " would have been a better choice.

I do subscribe to this. Opening book is an important issue in a tournament.
Either you prepare for it, or you play 1.a3 or 1...a6 and throw the opponent out of book.

Beside all these discussions about Jonny, Komodo etc, it is IMO a good thing to see Stefan Meyer kahlen operating shredder !

Let's hope there will be a new shredder version after the championship. My last one is shredder 12 and that was a few years ago.

The same counts for hiarcs,
Let's keep the fingers crossed for the last round and the game hiarcs - Jonny.

Maybe Jonny goes for a draw and plays Petroff's defense.
