Fritz 15 is obviously a new engine which Vas wrote from scratch after carefully studying Rybka 4.1 source code for 4 years.
Looks like the only thing new is the name, and maybe some improvements added over Rybka 4.1. Note: I am speaking only about the engine and I doubt Vas started from scratch.
It's a polished Rybka 4.1 with a small improvement, around 40 Elo and a major business move from Vasik which I grade with !!
I strongly doubt that he'll release the Fritz 16 edition regards,

I agree Doc, and I see about 40 Elo as well.

I wonder Ted why Chessbase is jumping from author to author to release it's flagship chess program,Fritz that is,and not sticking to a certain programmer in the long term like it used to be many many moons ago

That would be foolish to write from scratch. Rybka has a very good SMP implementation. Vas is obviously a very talented programmer and it is good to see him move on and put Rybka behind him. Wish him all the best.
He is moving on by helping Chessbase sell a clone of his own engine?

The Fritz legacy must be carried on by any means necessary business wise....
Not that I approve this approach,but....

Not get hung on semantics , but a clone would be a exact copy of his own engine - we already know it's not. A better choice might be a derivative of his own engine - which happens all the time - so what's your point?
