Stockfish 7 Beta 2

Bench: 8355485

No functional change

http://abrok.eu/stockfish/
Stockfish 7 beta 2 Mac Executables available for download.

Code: Select all

4 different flavors:
SF7b2i_bmi2 - for the latest Macs with the latest CPUs, compiled with icc
SF7b2g_bmi2 -- for the latest Macs with the latest CPUs, compiled with gcc
SF7b2i_pop - for the older Macs with the older CPUs, compiled with icc
SF7b2g_pop - for the older Macs with the older CPUs, compiled with gcc

Late 2014 iMac benchmark - bench (bmi2) :
===========================
Total time (ms) : 2966
Nodes searched  : 8355485
Nodes/second    : 2817088

Mid 2010 Mac Pro - bench (popcnt):
===========================
Total time (ms) : 3760
Nodes searched  : 8355485
Nodes/second    : 2222203

Mac Pro 2010 - bench 64 24 20:
===========================
Total time (ms) : 28893
Nodes searched  : 718706216
Nodes/second    : 24874752
generally speaking , gcc compiled exe's fare better under multithreading operations, icc often produces the fastest single threaded exe's - they are very close in any event.

Your Pop GNU compile I got this

dyld: lazy symbol binding failed: Symbol not found: __ZNSt18condition_variableC1Ev
Referenced from: /Users/herecomethej/Downloads/SF7b2/SF7b2g_pop
Expected in: /usr/lib/libstdc++.6.dylib

logout

OSX 10.11.2 Intel duo i7 from 2010. Are you sure you statically linked the libraries? GCC's version of libstdc++ is not standard on OSX.

At 40/1 I have Stockfish 7 beta 2 performing about 50 elo stronger (57.69%) than TCEC8 Stockfish after 26 games. Looks promising.

After 50 games SF 7 beta 2 is now performing about 20 elo stronger (53%) than TCEC8 Stockfish. Looks more realistic.
