How to optimize Windows 10 for power users

Post by Nathanael Russell »

Here is the guide of how to optimize windows 10 for gamers and also just speed up windows 10 in general. Also since privacy is a big concern going in with windows 10 I will show you guys how to make the OS less invasive than usual, though keep in mind that it still has some of these features baked into the core of the OS.

The website I used to get the program installed near the end is www.ninite.com

Also the list of services i disabled were:
3 Xbox services
All Hyper-V services
Micosoft SMS router service
Diagnostics tracking service
fax service
dmwappushsvc
3 sensor services

also the command for disabling hibernation is open up command prompt as administrator and type in 'powercfg -h off'

Then there is the last question that I am sure a lot of people have on their mind, and that is "is windows 10 any good?" to where I would reply "I like 8.1 better". However I hope they can (microsoft) cut down some of the 'cloud based' UI features and optimise it for the power users, in the mean time this guide is almost as fast as I can get the OS.

If you have any questions then please leave a comment in the comments section below!

***Also turning off windows update sharing is not really necessary as the default option is to share on your local network, which means only computers at your house will leech updates (which can save you bandwith so actually its a good thing), the option you dont want turned on is share with the wide area network.***
