Suspect Position From Hard Talkchess 2016 Beta 1

Post by acase »

I think there may be something wrong with this position (N7/8/2KQ2rp/6k1/3p3p/2p4P/4PP2/5N2 w - - bm f4+; c1 "diff=8") from Hard Talkchess 2016 Beta 1, unless of course I am missing something here, which is always a possibility  .

It says the best move is f4+, however that move neither wins nor draws according to all of the engines I have tried (they all think white is lost), even after making the move.

here is the position before f4+:

[d]N7/8/2KQ2rp/6k1/3p3p/2p4P/4PP2/5N2 w - -

Just curious

Default settings, adjusted fifty move distance to 12.

Apologies; Komodo does eventually find the draw but not initially. It's
a fair way into the set before it spots it.

Excellent Marek, thanks for posting that, also thank you for your work on Sting-SF, it is quickly becoming one of my favorites.

I'll run Sting for a while on my machine and see if the eval comes up to 0.00.
