Thanks for suggestions.

From what I've seen so far, +50 Elo seems conservative. :)

I hope it is more. But in the past i overstated strength improvements several times, so i wanted to avoid it now.
I did my testing at shorter time controls (40/4, running 8 games at a time on 4 cores with hyper-threading), and it showed around +100 ELO vs Fizbo 1.6. But i was not sure this would hold up at longer time controls.

I hope this picture helps to see why Fizbo crashes in Shredder GUI in ponder=on matches:

maybe it is because of this illegal pv move?

I'll remove illegal PV move and upload updated executables within 1 hour. Hopefully this will fix this problem.

Updated executables are uploaded to https://sites.google.com/site/fizbochessengine/

Now all moves reported by engine should be legal.

Also, as suggested by Ingo Bauer, i added nps to the output, and make PV longer (up to 8 moves).

Everything else is unchanged.

I played 500 games Ponder ON, 5min/game + 3s/move now with this latest version. Besides the occasional "doesn't ponder bug" I have 8 losses on time (and one complete crash for unknown reasons).
That is not a huge number but with an increment of 3s per move that should not happen at all.

Nothing big, but I leave games which are lost on time in as it is a "feature" of the engine!

Besides that it seems to work fine, thx

Unfortunately that is not true. The engine is crashing in mate positions with maximum eval, at least in the Classic GUI:

This problem together with the time losses I decided to stop testing here, which is a pitty as it might be a new No. 11 in my list ...

I think the engine needs some more 'polishing' :-)

Sorry about this: i think these problems are caused by illegal moves on PV. This did not come up before, when PV was short.

I just changed the executables to fix this situation; i hope the fix works. And i will continue cleaning this up for next release.
