Show engine suggested move with arrow

Post by Aosvo »

When kibitzing with an engine, on chessbase for android there is possible to draw an arrow to visibly show the engines best move. Also on Arena I have found that option.

However, I can´t find this function on the Chessbase interface for windows.
(And not in chessbase reader or Fritz, windows versions.)

Maybe I have missed something, or is this function not available?

Hello Sven,

the notion Kibitz is equivalent to a spectator of chess game(s).

The Fritz 15 online manual http://help.chessbase.com/f15-eng.pdf
describes this phenomenon at section 2.15.6 Kibitzers (pages 58 and 59)

Kibitzer cannot be combined with the "Explain all moves" window.

That is in my opinion the important fact.

The feature "Expain all moves" = 3.15.1 (pages 78 and 79)

3.1.5 Explain all moves

Training Explain all moves.
This will opens a new window with a list of all legal moves in the current position, sorted according to their value. The best move is listed first. The program will periodically recompile the list, searching one move deeper in the process. For each move there is a short characterisation. If you click any of the moves, the principal variation that would follow displays at the top of the screen, along with the resulting evaluation. Coloured arrows and squares on the board (to illustrate the point)
may appear.

You can double-click a move to execute it on the board.
Click Explain all m oves again to get rid of the display – or right-click and “close” the window.

I hope these informations are useful for you.

Best wishes,
Norbert

In Chessbase for Android I don't believe this is possible at this time. Chess PGN Master for Android does allow for this however. I sometime share data from Chessbase for Android and pass it to Chess PGN Master when analyzing games.

PS: Even DroidFish Chess for Android can display what you are looking for.

Thanks for answers. I will test that "explain alla moves"-feature.
