Hi Ted,

often I am thinking we aren't able to see if an engine is really very strong. We are looking on Stockfish and Komodo results and forgot the others. Only 40-50 Players in the World are stronger as Wasp.

Yes ...
Have a look here ...
My older SWCR Rating List!

Code: Select all

 172 ChessTiger 2007 1.0012 w32 : 2528.1 973.5 3780 25.8%
 179 TheKing 3.50 x64 : 2489.5 359.0 1440 24.9%
 182 Zarkov 6.44 w32 : 2433.3 494.5 2340 21.1%
And Wasp is ~ 300 Elo stronger as Zarkov.
ChessTiger 2007 is around 100 Elo stronger as Zarkov.

The result between ChessTiger - Wasp should be around 200 Elo more for Wasp. After your short match ... 191 Elo. The World is OK for John and Wasp in this match.

:-)

And for me too ...

:-)

Have fun with it!
Thanks for testing!

Hi Fernando,

answered 2x times of it in this thread.

Have a look in Wasp detail site. I added a note for John in the detail site. I am sure he will read it.

- 32bit
- 64bit for older processor
- Linux (got it via mail)
- Mac version (user asked in CSS Forum)
- Android (got the question by mail).

That is indeed a problem today. In winboard times all this aren't very important. w32 and the World is happy. Today the persons are working on x different things (building not a bigger test group, more or less many smaler Groups, today with different interest) and the programmers have a lot of work with it.

All is OK, I am sure John will do what he can do.
The first version was a test-version, not freely available ... now freely avaialable ... for myself the start point.

Other things ...
- endgame database support
- more cores

Sure, if the day is longer ... that will be the next question.

:-)

After Winboard engine number 100 (I stoped my work and gave it to Thomas Mayer, later Leo Dijksmann) I am K.O. in the past ... 200 eMails per day / Forum / beta-test ... 8 hours work per day. Today after one day Wasp ... enough to be K.O. too.

No, no ...
All is fine here!

Best
Frank

Well, wait for the 'Internet of Things' - then people also want a version for their refrigerator (connected to the internet).

Hi Fernando

:-)

Yes, and the GUI is very old.
And yes, Zarkov 4.1 was a great engine at this time. In the past I used often Zarkov 4.1.

I am very happy if you have fun with it.
I am thinking for days ... if Fernando see that ... a happy person more. Computer chess can be so nice if we are able to see!

Listen ...
Young people ... searching in services like Spotify new songs and often an unknown song heared not longer as 3 seconds. After this one the next and the next 3 seconds with the judgment ... bad. Never such people are able to find out good / new songs.

Yes ... Million of sounds ... hundrets of engines ...
That is the same ...

Or the same as to look in results of 1-minute computer chess games. We are not able to see ... that is the new generation.

Best
