Iphone 12 pro Max started off good with briefly over 9000kn/s. But after 2 minutes it had slowed down to 6465kn/s. One strange thing that happened is that the kn/s kept rising from this low point and was climbing back up to about 6600kn/s.

Huawei Mate 40 Pro on droidfish using Stockfish 10 , no other settings changed, neither hash nor anything else:
Stockfish NPS after 2 minutes computation in normal warm living room:

5.653.000 NPS

Antutu benchmark of the Kirin 9000 CPU were : 612608

Just found out the battery switches were not on performance:

In performance the Stockfish results after 2‘ are:
6.795.000 NPS

That is way more then before.

Antutu also increases to 693647

Tested xiaomi mi 11 lite 5G with new qualcom cpu SD 780 . Price here in Germany is ~ 400 euro. Dont mix the 4G with the 5G version.
NPS was 4828 K.
Antutu was 457142.

Almost no throttle effect in the 2 minutes.

Very thin and light mobile.

159g, 6.8 mm thin !!

Battery is 4250 mAh

Sometimes middle class smartphones are akso good. The flasgships are cool, but expensive and heavy.

Most flagships are heavy with >200 g.

The cpu, the SD780G IS MADE IN 5 nm technic (i think samsung factories do them) and therefore not much energy is wasted.

I want to warn you to buy a mobile phone with SD888.

The SOC overhests and throttles. For chess completely unusable.

Instead use mediatek 1200 or kirin9000 or any other chip.

But dont buy SD888 if you consider to do chess on it with mote then 1 core usage.

I tried xiaomi 11 and several other phones with this chip and they all heat up very easily.

Old news I know, and I wouldn't buy an Apple device, but the rest of the world is embarrassingly far behind Apple's SOCs - link.

TL/DR: A15 Bionic GeekBench: 4806, Snapdragon 888 GeekBench: 3687

To be fair, Apple's SOC team deserve huge credit: they refused to work the Steve Jobs way, and they've vindicated themselves. The A15 is a not just a world beater - it leaves the competition in it's dust cloud!

Just ordered Pixel 6 Pro, plan to 'De-Google' it with 'GrapheneOS' and hope that will not cause to many problems with my chess apps. Has anyone benchmarked this with say Stockfish?
