The move numbers follow the complete FEN provided in the first post of this thread.

The game is not in Megabase 2016 nor in CCRL's 40/40 archive. The OP in the fishcooking thread may know where the game is from, perhaps Eelco could ask him over there.

The immediate 4.Nxe4 wins as well, as per analysis I posted on the previous page.

Stockfish wants to play that, (Nxe4) but RS did not like it, I'm not sure. It likes immediately Rhg1 much better. Sven's line seemed to be a draw.

The line from Kim is interesting, I must say that it did seem at least very un-Stockfish like, but trying to backward solve it, the 4. Qg4 b5 turned out well for both sides, so White is winning with Qg4 but not because of b5. Backward solving with RS has the same strange effects as Stockfish. It forgot the best line it had found often, and then displayed the line from Kim again, (Is that just because at the beginning you execute that line, befote going backwards again? So it has some shallow hash entries left? I don't know.) Not that that was a bad one but it had just found something better. I have no idea what causes it, in a particular case it can of course always be Zugzwang, but not sure that is the case here and even with Zugzwang it still should find the better moves it found in the hash table.

This has just been running a few days, after 4. Qg4 from Kim's line

(The last complete iteration is the depth 44 one, the 45 (with just one move)is displayed because I stopped analysis there This is a bit buggy, I don't think it should do that. Not sure what Stockfish does at the moment)

White seems to be winning in all lines so not sure 4... Nc6 is really better than 4... Kc7, or 4... b5 as in the original.
Debugging is twice as hard as writing the code in the first
place. Therefore, if you write the code as cleverly as possible, you
are, by definition, not smart enough to debug it.
