When I run a gauntlet between SF8 and the tops engines from those days, SF8 cuts through them like warm butter.
It's embarrassingly easy and one-sided.
I doubt any human could score a win, although a draw might be possible with the right strategy...
Note that being able to win a single game out of many tries can be done simply by memorizing the winning game that you prepare at home based on stockfish-stockfish games.
Probability is small that stockfish is going to play exactly the same line but not 0.
The answer is simple:

Try playing SF-SF on many cores from the starting position and notice:
1. How many repeated games there are
2. What's the draw rate
The probability that SF would repeat exactly the same loosing line are not 0, but well below 1 in a million.
