Thanks Dennis.
Nice site too. :)

Roughly how much stronger than 1.5 do you estimate this new version to be?

Hello Graham.

Code: Select all

     Engine              Score
01: Schooner1.7.0_64    48.0/100 ··········
02: Ruffian 1.0.5       8.5/10   1011=11111
03: SOS 5.1 for Arena   7.0/10   1011=1=110
04: Ethereal7.78-Win64  6.5/10   =1=0=11101
04: Spike 1.2           6.5/10   110101101=
06: Schooner1.6.7_64    6.0/10   =11=0==1==
07: Dorky4.5            5.5/10   001011===1
08: Marvin_64bit_popcnt 5.0/10   ==11100=0=
09: Gogobello 1.0       3.0/10   =00101000=
09: Myrddin-087-64      3.0/10   =0==0000=1
11: Abbess2016          1.0/10   00=0=00000
100 games played / Tournament is finished

It probably depends on the GUI being used. A quick 100 game gauntlet using Arena produces a Schooner 1.7 rating of 2469 +/- 58 elo.

Thanks for the new release, Dennis.

A few questions:

Is the github site now obsolete? (no updates anymore on the source)
https://github.com/schooner64-chess/Schooner-Chess.git

Would you mind also to host a few earlier versions on your new site,
for historical etc. reasons?

Hello Guenther,

The git hub site is probably always active or never disabled. However, git hub was difficult to work with and very unforgiving.

Google Sites is much easier to use, better looking and allows endless modifications. Click on the sailboat picture on the welcome page and the picture explodes. There is nothing more beautiful in the engineering world than the curves of a real schooner. :D For now, Google Sites will be used as long as it works.

All of the back releases are bugged. The version history is just irritation to get things fixed. Version 1.5.7 did very well in Sergio Martinez's Swiss Tournament Edition II, Group B. It was the last version that did not use a pawn hash table. Version 1.5.7 has been uploaded under a sub folder for old releases.

Thanks for the quick answer. Does this mean you have real experience being on a Schooner? :)

I have walked on a docked schooner but never sailed on one. I have only sailed small single-masted boats. :)
