Fritz 16

Available Tuesday, Nov 14 (Chessbase.com). Even has emoticons to show Fritz's mood. Very important, of course.
Can it also do the weekly shopping?Dayffd wrote:Even has emoticons to show Fritz's mood.
Yes, but it's softly worded and hardly given any space in the article. I fear it may be Fritz 15 + 25 elo or something.kasinp wrote:It does say that "the new multiprocessor engine was developed by star programmer Vas Rajlich ("Rybka") and is up there with the global elite."
Sounds like a continuation of Rybka development to me.

I agree, this is also a key question for me.noctiferus wrote:thx. My fault, did not see it.
I wonder if there will be an UCI version or only a Fritz engine.
I guess they forget to add "a few years ago ...". I bet for the same Rybka 4.1, maybe slightly tweaked.kasinp wrote:It does say that "the new multiprocessor engine was developed by star programmer Vas Rajlich ("Rybka") and is up there with the global elite."

The last Chessbase-only proprietary engine was Fritz 14, released in 2013. Fritz 15 (2015) was UCI. It doesn't seem likely that they will attempt to revive the old .engine format, especially as Ftitz 16 promises to be just a new Rybka version.kasinp wrote:I agree, this is also a key question for me.noctiferus wrote:thx.
