A Turing Test

Post by Dann Corbit »

Two games. First clue, The same two played each other twice.
Like the poll, choose if white is human or computer for both games.
Same for the opponent.

Taking ideas is not a vice, it is a virtue. We have another word for this. It is called learning.
But sharing ideas is an even greater virtue. We have another word for this. It is called teaching.

Hi Dann,

yes, this is a test similar to mine. The way the loser played till checkmate in hopeless positions suggests the losing entity was 'silicon-based'. As to the winner, it is a tougher guess -- in the game White won, I can see a human attacking genius being able to play like that and win over a weaker or older chess program with poor king safety; but in the win with Black I'm not so sure it could have been a human, as the play was more machine-like.

You have remarkably good insight (though I as a human have a tendency to play to the bitter end.)
;-)

When I looked at your post using Microsoft Edge (or Google Chrome), I only saw 1 game. When I quoted your text, I then saw the text of the second game. Do you need "/pgn" after the first, and then "pgn" before the second one?
