Would be great if WinBoard could add this integration.
OK, is it, Dorpsgek by Matew Brades, is one example.zenpawn wrote:Would be great if WinBoard could add this integration.

RookieMonster uses "time" -- didn't realize there was a newer way for the protocol to report that information to the engine.xr_a_y wrote:I didn't have any problem with Weini using both uci (newly implemented) or xboard when I use the new bot functionality of lichess.
Just that for xboard, it seems you have to implement the old "time" feature ...
Now no "fiddling" needed for xboard engines. lichess-bot supports them similar to uci ones. You just have to set some lines in config.yml and you are ready to go. PyChessBot is running pychess-engine which uses xboard protocol also.zenpawn wrote:I was referring to the WinBoard GUI.velmarin wrote:OK, is it, Dorpsgek by Matew Brades, is one example.zenpawn wrote:Would be great if WinBoard could add this integration.

I'll probably try the python script at some point and prepare myself for the "fiddling" Matthew mentioned was required. I was hoping he'd follow up that comment, but I don't see that he did.
Maybe with wb2uci adapter.zenpawn wrote:I was referring to the WinBoard GUI.velmarin wrote:OK, is it, Dorpsgek by Matew Brades, is one example.zenpawn wrote:Would be great if WinBoard could add this integration.

Well, even with time, level is important, since it tells you the time control, whereas time tells you how much is left.xr_a_y wrote:Nope forget what I said, I was wrong, time and otime seem to be the "new" way of manaing time (protocol version 2), Weini use level for this ...
