Database of GM names

Is there a database of strong players name and their handles that play chess on the various online chess sites? I ask because I was just viewing a game that was in progress on LiChess, when it was over I copied the pgn and loaded it in Chessbase. I was surprised when a photo of Anatoly karpov appeared by the handle of "Tamik".
