material handicap, maximal rating and anti-X engines

Post by Uri Blass »

I wonder what is the maximal computer rating that it is possible to win with knight handicap or queen handicap.

I think that to solve this problem it may be interesting to have anti-X programs.

The idea of anti-X program is to start with a deterministic engine X that you can calculate the move it is going to play with 100% confidence(for example stockfish with fixed depth of 20 plies and clear hash and 1 core).

Now anti-X search all the possible moves for itself but does not search all the possible moves for the opponent but only the moves that it calculate that X is going to play(except small depth when it is too expensive) and use the normal alpha-beta algorithm.
